A ‘young, quirky sophisticate’ who ‘glides through her day’ was the inspiration for this season.

“The Markus Lupfer girl never sleeps, and Autumn/Winter 2016 caters for her 24 hour lifestyle without compromising on polish,” read the show notes for the designer’s AW16 collection.

And so the whispy, slightly matted manes the models were given by Bumble and bumble to compliment the garments was a pretty take on ‘third day party hair’.

The designer described the mood of his AW16 collection as 'mellow with a romantic furrow'.

Chunky gold earrings were juxtaposed with the delicately textured hair.

Lead by renowned stylist Tina Outen, the team’s brief was ‘a young, cool, modern girl with a high fashion feel.’

“She looks as if she’s just left the club after three days of partying, so it’s greasy roots and dry ends. Tina’s layering Bumble and bumble Tonic, All-Style and Styling Lotion before diffuse-drying the hair,” a member of the Bumble and bumble crew told us.

‘Whispy and windswept’ was the brief for the Bumble and bumble session team.

“Tina’s described it as a dusty haze that will be picked up in the light of the show. She created breaks and bumps to give the illusion of a wind-blown texture. If they could have had a wind machine, they would have! It’s very whispy, with lots of hair over the face.”

The models’ hair was complimented by metallic gold sequins placed all over the doll-faced girls’ eyelids, a look created by Lucy Burt for Maybelline New York, and matching nails glittering nails by Michelle Humphrey, also for Maybelline New York.
