Four Street Style Trends That Are Dominating London Fashion Week AW17

One of our favourite things about Fashion Month is the excellent people watching opportunity it brings, and by ‘people’ we generally mean people’s style. Right now, the eyes of the world are trained on London, and as ever the city is giving excellent street style.

From fashion editors to buyers, stylists and models, bloggers and glossy show ponies, the catwalk that is the sidewalk outside 180 The Strand, the home of this season’s #LFW, and various other chosen fashion show venues dotted around town, is as colourful and bold as it has ever been.

While strolling through Instagram, we have noticed a few street style trends that are dominating the AW17 shows. Some of these have been going for a few years and are currently showing in their latest incarnation (coloured faux fur, anyone), while others are just on the cusp to explode all over the High Street (extreme shirts). But – mainstream or not – the street style heroes in our gallery make them look so good! Take note and get shopping…

Denim is everywhere
From frayed jeans to torn and shredded jackets, rich dark blue hues to asymmetrical cuts, what could be the most popular fabric ever invented is going through a rebellious phase right now.

Fishnet tights and socks

Yes, they have been all over Instagram for several months now, and it seems the trend is continuing to snowball despite its apparent impracticality.

Coloured (faux) fur
The obsession with fluffy coats and stoles in candy colours is not going anywhere, it seems, but now the eye-catching materials are making their way onto jeans and skirts, by way of paneling.

Extreme shirts
Oversized cuts, asymmetrical lines and bondage style sleeves have upgraded the formal shirt to this year’s statement item.
