Hunting for fashion bargains at a flea market can be a lot of fun, but how often do you really stumble across that vintage Chanel bag or other sartorial treasures amongst the less desirable ‘pre-loved’ goods on offer?
Likewise, as a seller, it can be hard to explain to the average car boot shopper why you don’t want to let to go of those amazing boots you paid £200 for and then decided you can’t walk in for just £3.
This is why you need to circle Thursday, the 6th of August 2015, in your diary, when The Great Putney Clothes Sale takes over St Mary’s Church on Putney High Street for an evening of shopping, music and cocktails hosted and attended by stylish girls like yourself who love a bargain, appreciate quality and have wardrobes you’d love to raid.
And it’s all in the name of a good cause! Founded by photographer Michelle Lindsell – read our interview with the creative whirlwind here – you can bring your ‘good as new’ clothes, accessories and jewellery to help raise money for local youth charity Regenerate. And with every item priced at £20 or less, it’s as easy to let go of your unwanted garments as it is picking up new ones.
A donation of just £10 will secure you a stand to sell your goods from, but attendees are welcome to give more as the evening progresses. Buyers should remember to bring lots of cash as there are no card payment facilities.
Foodie treats, drinks and live music in beautiful surroundings make for the perfect opportunity to shop and chat, all the while supporting a great cause. Will we see you there?
