We always expected style icon turned fashion designer Mary Kate Olsen’s home to be the epitome of glamour, but nothing could have prepared us for the sheer scale of luxury of her reported new love nest.
According to real estate website Curbed, the former actress and fiancé Olivier Sarkozy have spent an impressive $13.5million on the Manhattan abode – and if the claims are true, we consider it money well spent.
Situated in the prestigious neighbourhood of Turtle Bay Gardens, the stunning townhouse boasts five bedrooms, a rooftop exercise pool, seven fireplaces, a mirrored hall and a grand ballroom.
The mansion, which the couple bought from painter David Deutsch, is one of 20 houses in the complex – all of which have traditionally been inhabited by creative and artistic personalities including Katherine Hepburn and Charlotte’s Webb author E.B. White.
Built for heiress Charlotte Martin in the 1920s, the decor is said to have been influenced by her travels to Paris and Rome and reportedly includes a ‘Medici fountain’ in its private garden.
