We came across this pretty little charm necklace from India Hicks London’s new Harbour Island collection while browsing for our upcoming trip to Ibiza, so we thought we’d share with you!
Inspired by the British aristocrats island-hopping lifestyle between the Bahamas and the UK, the range includes bath and body products as well as accessories and jewellery.
The A Love Token charms start from as little as $39.00, so it would be rude not to check them out – which you can do here.
India herself said of the inspiration behind the design, “In Britain, the practice of engraving a small coin as a token to give to friends and loved ones goes back for over 400 years. My mother had several, inherited from her mother, on a charm necklace. I remember the noise they made as she came down the nursery corridor to put me to bed. And the feel of the engraving, on the smooth, shiny surface between my fingers, as I touched these whilst falling asleep.”
She told WWD of the new Harbour Island project, “It’s my past life mixed with this island story. I should have had a very traditional life in England, probably married to a duke and doing something sensible. I’m unmarried [to partner David Flint Wood] living on an island with five children, and that’s part of my message about being individual.”
