Set For Love: Carl Cox And Sasha Headline Covid-19 Christmas Appeal

Set For Love

One of the silver linings of the ongoing Coronavirus crisis is the renewed sense of community that can be felt across the globe. In this spirit, DJ icons Carl Cox and Sasha are set to join a huge host of turntable talent this weekend for the Christmas edition of the Set For Love charity live streams. From Friday, November 20th, all the way through to Sunday, November 22nd, a marathon of DJ sets awaits.

Once again, a huge collective of electronic music talent is set to play simultaneously throughout the three-day electronic music live stream. Headliner Carl Cox is returning for a second time, with the likes of Kevin Saunderson B2B The Saunderson Brothers, Fatima Hajji and Josh Butler also billed to join the fun.

The Set For Love Christmas Appeal is raising funds for a variety of charitable projects supporting vulnerable children and young adults.

Dance For A Good Cause

All sets will be streamed live via the LNADJ Facebook page. From bedroom mixers to international turntable icons, music lovers will be spoilt for choice whether they want to discover fresh faces or dance along to their all-time favourites.

Funds raised will be distributed across a number of projects in developing countries focussed on creating sustainable futures for vulnerable children and young adults.

These include projects to stop child labour and get children into education, construction of new schools, centres for the rehabilitation of young girls who have experienced sex trafficking and domestic abuse, and the creation of sustainable resources including water wells.

The Set For Love concept originally launched at Las Dalias in Ibiza in the summer of 2019, featuring 30 of the island’s most popular resident DJs – all of whom donated their set. The money raised from ticket sales went to building freshwater wells in India and Africa.

Fatima Hajji is one of the many turntable talents taking to the decks during the three-day live stream.

Jonny Lee, Founder of LNADJ said: “The idea for Set for Love live streams has been born out of the adversity our partners in developing countries are facing during these challenging and unprecedented times. We work with organisations helping the most vulnerable and they have been drastically affected by lockdown. In some of these communities, a day without work means a day without food.

“In this current moment, we were able to contemplate the most effective and simple way for LNADJ and the dance music community to come together and make an urgently needed difference in such a beautiful way. We’re calling on DJs of all levels, whether amateur or professional, to get involved. The same goes for promoters, record labels and all within the electronic music industry. Whether you’re streaming to thousands of fans or your friends and family, you really can make a difference. Just £20 can feed a family in Uganda for a month.”

Set For Love

Spin For Charity

Over the last 10 years, LNADJ has supported children in crisis across the world, linking their love of dance music with various grassroots projects to help those in need. The foundation’s original aim of creating positive change by harnessing the energy of the dance music world has skyrocketed into a diverse and expressive foundation that is supported by many industry greats.

If you are interested in donating your own Set For Love live stream this weekend you can register at www.setforlove.org, choose the hour(s) you want to play and pick the platform you want to broadcast from. The sets will be streamed simultaneously all weekend long, with DJs sharing the link with their fans, friends and family to donate and spread the hashtag #setforlove.
