Why Apple Watch is more stylish than you thought!

The new Apple Watch: A stylish investment?

Let’s face it. Wearable technology may be a real buzzword right now, but it’s not exactly one that fills us with sartorial excitement. That is, until Apple introduced us to its shiny new Apple Watch today.

Set to launch in 2015 and predicted to cost between £220 – £300, it’s surprisingly sleek and can be personalised down to the last detail. What’s even more exciting, the technology whizzes have even included a rose gold model in the range. Yes, you read that right: rose gold. Who knew the kids at Apple were so down with current jewellery trends?

Offering three different collections, the Edition range is the one that will set fashionistas’ hearts aflutter. Apple writes, “The Edition collection features six uniquely elegant expressions of Apple Watch. Each has a watch case crafted from 18-karat gold that our metallurgists have developed to be up to twice as hard as standard gold. The display is protected by polished sapphire crystal. And an exquisitely designed band provides a striking complement.”

But what can it actually do? One of the biggest selling points of this pretty new gadget are its health monitoring functions. Measuring three different modes, the Apple Watch tells you how many calories you have burned, tracks how much you move every day and encourages you to reduce your sedentary time by giving you credit every time you stand up. It also sets you fitness goals, sends workout reminders and celebrates your achievements.

Other quirky functions include the ability to send hand-drawn sketches – or a pulsing measure of your heartbeat – to loved ones, speak to friends via a walkie-talkie inspired microphone function and sync your credit and debit cards so you can pay via the time piece. (Don’t forget, it is a watch)

Oh, and of course you can make phone calls, send emails and receive text messages. Now, was there anything else?

The Apple Watch will be available in early 2015. For more information go to www.apple.com
