London Fashion Week AW15: Working The Wardrobe

Hot on the heels of Mode Wellness Week came, you might have guessed, London Fashion Week!

This was my second season covering the shows for Glam UK and we got some great access, both in terms of tickets and going backstage.

Even with a jam-packed schedule, I always try to take a little bit of time between events to soak up the atmosphere and simply ‘people watch’. Whether it’s low-key luxe or all-out creative daring, you definitely come across some world class street style at #LFW.

As much as I am aware that I’m rubbing shoulders with some of fashion’s boldest and most creative dressers, I don’t really believe in changing up my whole wardrobe to try and vie for the attention of the photographers lurking inside and around Somerset House.

I’d describe my style as fairly casual at the best of times, with a leaning towards a sports luxe and – sometimes – an androgynous vibe, so I’m never going to be one of those artful mavericks who could craft a ‘look’ out of the contents of a scrap heap and still look amazing.

Also, keeping in mind that I spend a considerable amount of time interviewing hair stylists, make-up artists and models behind the scenes, as well as taking lots of pictures and dashing to the nearest WiFi hotspot to write  up the show reports, as boring as it sounds… comfort is key!

This was my outfit for Day Two of London Fashion Week AW15, when I met one of our Mode bloggers for breakfast, watched the Jasper Conran and Daks London shows at Somerset House and then went backstage at Sass & Bide as a guest of Toni & Guy and label. m at the Australian Embassy.

I’m wearing:

Zara scarf
Zara coat
Urban Outfitters necklace
H&M sweater
Miss Selfridge bag
Zara trousers
Forever 21 shoes
