Ready for check-in! Beat Hotel awaits with sun-drenched sounds, fine food and creative conversations

Beat Hotel Ibiza

The Ibiza season may be slowly drawing to a close, but some of our favourite island people, hip hangouts, culture vultures, foodies and creative minds have been saving the best for last.

From Wednesday, September 27th until Sunday, October 1st 2023, roaming event series the Beat Hotel is once again throwing its doors wide open to welcome Ibiza lovers from all over the world for poolside fun, sundowner chill, tasty treats and inspiring conversations.

In homage to the Parisian artist residence that gained fame in the 1950s as a hotspot where the likes of William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, and Gregory Corso exchanged ideas, the Balearic edition of Beat Hotel will be taking over Las Mimosas on the sunset coast of Ibiza. A programme jam-packed with music, elevated dining experiences, and plenty of dance floor action awaits.

Making the most of the glorious September sunshine, guests can drop in daily for the Swim Club sessions featuring a juicy line-up of poolside DJ sets and a mouthwatering BBQ by renowned restaurateur Richard H. Turner (of the world-famous, sustainable steak and seafood Hawksmoor restaurants) and his friends. Afterwards, ocean views and cocktails await on the hotel’s rooftop, and for those who cannot tear themselves away from this heavenly set-up, it’s not too late to ask for a room at the inn (subject to availability)!

Meanwhile, the nocturnal programme traverses the width and breadth of the island, taking over a different venue on each each day.

From epic clifftop sunset spot Hostal La Torre to the vibey The Standard Ibiza, boho cool open air club Cova Santa to the charming Las Dalias Hippie Market in the North (and its sister micro-club Akasha), as well as the original party hotel, Pikes Ibiza, music and food lovers alike are spoilt for choice.

Live acts performing during the five consecutive days include Peruvian songstress and producer Sofia Kourtesis, Italian ambient pioneer Gigi Masin playing a rooftop show in the Old Town, and the seven-piece Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble, who are set to bring a contemporary take on the Balearic spirit when they headline an open air concert at Las Dalias.

The Beat Hotel’s line-up of international DJ talent spans club tastemakers rarely seen in Ibiza, alongside outliers of the scene making their White Isle debuts.

John Talabot and Axel Boman will play under their Talaboman guise, alongside Phantasy’s Daniel Avery and rising talent Gabrielle Kwarteng. Elsewhere, the bill includes house aficionado Suze Ijó, vivacious DJ / NTS regular Shanti Celeste playing b2b Roi Perez, Amsterdam’s Elias Mazian and the cinematically inclined Alex Kassian. Complementing the roster of international acts, support duties fall to some of the island’s most trusted selectors including Camilo Miranda, Pete Gooding, Chris Coco, The Brothers Grim and Phat Phil Cooper.

Furthermore, just like every year, Beat Hotel also offers a culture-focused programme that is centred around the idiosyncrasies of the island and its people.

On Wednesday, September 27th, a think tank led by Ibicencan creative Francesca Tur (Tendencias TV) together with journalist and DJ Christian Len, will bring together some of the brightest creative minds of the White Island at Las Mimosas for a discussion about inspiration and creativity in Ibiza.

The cultural offering continues on Thursday, 28th September, with the conceptually-led “Island Times”, a diverse selection of creatives that will showcase the influence of Ibiza and their early experiences of the island on their art, including a conversation with renowned author Irvine Welsh and special DJ sets by e-soul protagonist Luke Una and Ibicenco Gaya Brisa. The music will be complemented by a dinner prepared by Michelin-starred chef Brad Carter, with the menu taking inspiration from Ibiza’s dancefloors in the form of three-courses: “Warm up”, “Main Room” and “Afterparty.
