Green juices are having a bit of a moment. Thanks to their powerful mix of antioxidants and vitamin-rich ingredients, they have been spotted everywhere from super model Karlie Kloss’ handbag to many a backstage Instagram snap at Fashion Week.
Indeed, from Miranda Kerr to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, pretty much every catwalk beauty has her own favourite recipe – and for good reason. While they might not always look too appealing, green juices are packed with energy-boosting, immune-system-strengthening, give-you-that-million-dollar-glow properties. Here are some of the model crowds favourite recipes.
The ‘ultimate smoothie’
This concoction comes from no other than beautiful Aussie model Miranda Kerr – and isn’t she the best advert for a green beauty boost? Having studied nutrition, the 30-year-old is a real wellness enthusiast and knows all about the ingredients that pack the biggest health punch.
You need:
The water of a young, fresh coconut
1/2 glass almond or goat’s milk
1 tbs acai powder
1 tbs goji berries
1 tbs spirulina
1 tbs raw cacao powder
1 tbs maca powder
1 tbs chia seeds
Method: Blend all the ingredients together and serve immediately.
The skin cleanser
Celebrity personal trainer James Duigan, the man behind the model physiques of Elle Macpherson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, recommends this beauty-boosting recipe on his Bodyism website. An advocate of ‘clean’ eating, the fitness expert recommends creating dishes from organic ingredients while avoiding processed foods.
You need:
2 tablespoons CoYo natural yoghurt
150ml water/rice milk/nut milk
1 scoop Bodyism Beauty Food
a handful of spinach
a small handful of blueberries
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
1 sprig of mint
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon desiccated coconut (optional)
Method: Blend all the ingredients together and serve immediately with the desiccated coconut sprinkled on top if you want.

4 romaine lettuce leaves
2 celery stalks
1 cup fresh spinach
1 apple, peeled and chopped
1 pear
½ banana
Juice of ½ lemon
1½ cups of water
